Economy and Private Enterprise

The cornerstone of a Green tax policy is the preservation of social welfare. Taxes should promote social justice and steer the behaviour of both business and consumers towards ecological responsibility. The ecological tax reform proposed by the Greens entails a shift in the tax burden from work earnings to environmental impact and energy consumption. The taxation of work earnings should be cut in order to promote the emergence of the private service sector.

Environmental and energy taxes should be used to encourage ecologically sustainable production and consumption. Finland must increase investment in environmental technology, the service sector and the creative economy.
